Length: 1 byte

Contents: LLC control data (data flow control etc.).

The LLC control field is 1 byte in length when used connectionless (CLLS - connectionless link services); it is 2 bytes in length when used connection-oriented (COLS - connection-oriented link services).

COLS uses PDU sequence numbers.
