IEEE 802.1d - Bridge Protocol Data Unit / Spanning Tree

Move the mouse pointer to any protocol field and press the left mouse button.

Bridge PDUs are sent by Ethernet transparent bridges capable of spanning tree algorighm.

There are two types of BPDU:

> Configuration BPDU

> Topology Change Notification BPDU

This is the configuration BPDU; topology change notification BPDUs are only 4 bytes in length ending with the third field 'BPDU type'.

BPDUs are sent to the Ethernet functional address
