Phase 2: Lobe media check

The adapter sends test frames which are looped back by the MAU (multistation access unit) because the corresponding relais is still closed. If the test frames can be received unchanged, the adapter assumes the lobe cable to be error-free.

The adapter transmits:

- 2047 lobe media check MAC frames

- 1 duplicate address test (DAT) MAC frame
