SIF - Status Information Frames
SIF are used for checking station state, for isolating ring errors, for maintaining a ring map.
There are two types of SIF frames:
> SIF Configuration - request / response
> SIF Operation - request / response
SIF response frames contain the following parameters:
Param.
Type SIF Configuration Response
====== =====================================================================
0x0002 StationDescriptor
Number of MACs including: addresses; number of ports; port type;
station type (workstation or concentrator).
0x0003 StationState
Topology information (order of MACs and ports attached to the ring);
station's wrap status.
0x0004 MsgTimeStamp
Current message's time stamp.
0x0005 StationPolicies
Treatment of port type (example: if port type A to port type A
is allowed).
0x0006 PathLatencyContribution
Station's signal delay.
0x0007 MACNeighbors
