SVID 01h - Beacon Type
SV Length (incl. length byte): 4 bytes
The beacon type code is used in order to isolate the error that caused the beacon process.
There are four different types of beacon frames identified by seperate subvector codes:
During Reconfiguration (unused) SVCode = 01 h
Signal Loss (= "J" symbols) SVCode = 02 h
TNT expired / no FR_CL_TK received SVCode = 03 h
TNT expired / FR_CL_TK received SVCode = 04 h
SVCode 01h - Set recovery mode
During Reconfiguration (unused)
This type of beacon MAC frame can be originated only by the process in an attached product acting as a recovery station with a function class zero authorization.
Not all manufacturers support this type of beacon frame.
SVCode 02h - Signal Loss
This type of beacon MAC frame is transmitted when a monitor contention timeout occurs and the contention transmit mode was entered because of a signal loss condition being detected. If a signal loss condition is detected while in beacon transmit type 03h or 04h, the beacon type will change to 02h. If, while transmitting beacon MAC frames with this beacon-type subvector, a signal is detected, the beacon type subvector will be changed to 03h.
SVCode 03h - Bit Streaming
TNT expired / no FR_CL_TK received
This type of beacon MAC frame is transmitted when a monitor contention timeout occurs in an adapter in monitor contention transmit mode, and no claim token MAC frames were received during the contention period.
SVCode 04h - Contention Streaming
TNT expired / FR_CL_TK received
This type of beacon MAC frame is transmitted when a monitor contention timeout occurs in an adapter in monitor (transmit or repeat), and one or more claim token MAC frame(s) were received during the contention period. This indicates that contention could not be resolved within one second.
