Length: 12 bits

Contents: frame status.

The frame status field may (or may not) indicate:

- Error-Detect (E-Bit)

- Address Recognized (A-Bit)

- Frame Copied (F-Bit oder C-Bit)

If a ring station detects a frame error, it will set the error-detect bit (E=1).

If a ring station recognized its own MAC address, it will set the address recognized bit (A=1).

If a ring station copied the frame into its buffer, it will set the frame copied bit (C=1).

If a frame had been received by the destination address properly, it will set AC=11.
