Control - Unnumbered Information (LLC Type 1)

Arbeitet LLC verbindungslos (CLLS - connectionless link services), so ist das Control-Feld nur 1 Byte lang (U-Format LLC).

Die ersten zwei Bits mit Wert '11' legen die Variante unnumbered information fest (heißt: keine Sequenz-Zählung der LLC-PDUs).

Das P/F-Bit (Poll-Final) kennzeichnet nach Bedarf die Flußrichtung.

Die M-Bits (modifier function bits) kennzeichnen Unterfunktionen des UI-Paketes:

MM-MMM = 00-000 = UI - Unnumbered Information

MM-MMM = 11-101 = XID - Exchange Identification

MM-MMM = 00-111 = TEST - Test

MM-MMM = 11-110 = SABME - Set Asychronous Balanced Mode Extended

MM-MMM = 00-110 = UA - Unnumbered Acknowledgment

MM-MMM = 11-000 = DM - Disconnected Mode

MM-MMM = 00-010 = DISC - Disconnect

MM-MMM = 10-001 = FRMR - Frame Reject

LLC Type 1 - U-Format - DISC

Eine DISC-LPDU (Disconnect LLC PDU) wird gesendet, um eine (per SABME-PDU gestartete) asynchronous balanced mode-Operation zu beenden; der Partner-Station (remote link station) wird damit gleichzeitig mitgeteilt, daß sie in den asynchronous disconnected mode wechseln möge. Die remote link station antwortet darauf entweder mit einem unnumbered acknowledgment (UA-PDU response), sofern sie sich im asynchronous balanced mode befindet, oder mit einer DM-PDU (response), sofern sie sich im asynchronous disconnected mode befindet.

LLC Type 1 - U-Format - DM

Mit einer DM-LPDU (Disconnected Mode LLC PDU) teilt eine LLC-Station mit, daß sie logisch abgemeldet ist (logically disconnected).

LLC Type 1 - U-Format - FRMR

Eine FRMR-LPDU (Frame Reject LLC PDU) wird gesendet, um mitzuteilen, daß eine empfangene LPDU fehlerhaft war.

LLC Type 1 - U-Format - SABME

Eine SABME-LPDU (Set Asynchronous Balanced Mode Extended LLC PDU) wird gesendet, um sich mit einer remote link station darauf zu verständigen, Datenaustausch im extended asynchronous balanced mode durchzuführen. Die remote link station muß hierauf mit einer UA-LPDU (Bestätigung) oder einer DM-LPDU (Ablehnung) antworten.

LLC Type 1 - U-Format - TEST

Die TEST-LPDU (Test LLC PDU) kann Test-Zeichen im INFORMATION-Feld übertragen, muß dieses aber nicht. Wenn ja, müssen diese Test-Zeichen von der Partner-Station zurück gesendet werden.

LLC Type 1 - U-Format - UA

Eine UA-LPDU (Unnumbered Acknowledgment LLC PDU) (response) wird gesendet, um eine SABME-LPDU oder DISC-LPDU zu bestätigen.

LLC Type 1 - U-Format - XID

Eine XID-LPDU (Exchange Identifier LLC PDU) enthält Paramenter der Datenflußkontrolle.
