Contents: source routing control data.
Token-ring station can trace the transmission path of frames from source to destination station. This is used in order to detect multiple paths respectively the fastest path. If source routing broadcasts are issued, source routing bridges place their bridge IDs into the routing information field (RIF). If a source routing broadcast has been replied by the destination station, the reply frame will pass the same bridges (same with all following frames).
