Length: 3 bits
Contents: indicates the kind of broadcast (if any).
BBB = 0?? = non-broadcast
Indicates that the route designators are already given (source station prescribes the frame's path).
BBB = 10? = all-routes broadcast
This broadcast frame has to be transmitted by all token-ring bridges. This will cause that there will arrive multiple copies of the frame at the destination station.
BBB = 11? = single-route broadcast
This broadcast frame has to be transmitted only be the first bridge of each ring in source-to-destination direction; it will be sent back (destination-to-source direction) via all routes (similar to all-routes broadcast).
