Länge: 1 Byte

Inhalt: Steuer-Daten von LLC, z.B. Datenflußkontrolle.

Bei der verbindungslosen Variante von LLC (CLLS - connectionless link services) ist das Control-Feld nur 1 Byte lang, bei der verbindungsorientierten Variante (COLS - connection-oriented link services) 2 Bytes lang.

Bei COLS enthält das Control-Feld u.a. den Sequenz-Zähler (laufende LLC-Paket-Nummer).
